Yunnan Nationalities Village

Yunnan Nationalities Village is seated on the east shore of Lake Dian, 8 kilometers away from the downtown of Kunming. Covering 840,000 square meters, the Park faces the West Hill Park, Zhenghe Park and Daguan Park on other sides of Lake Dian. Yunnan Nationalities Village was first constructed in 1992 and has functioned as an important window to showcase the diversified ethnic cultures of Yunnan Province. There are altogether 25 ethnic minorities in Yunnan Province that have a population of over 5,000 respectively. Each minority has built a village of its own in the Park to display the unique culture. The 25 ethnic minorities are Dai, Bai, Yi, Naxi, Wa, Lisu, Dulong, Nu, Zhuang, Hui, Miao, Shui, Yao, Mongolian, Tibetan, Jinuo, La’hu, Bulang, Hani, De’ang, Pumi, Man, Buyi, Jingpo, A’chang and Mosuo (a branch of Naxi). The Park has been well equipped with such facilities as auditorium, square, tour carts and restaurants serving different cuisines thus can meet the needs of visitors.
